COURTESY OF CHRISTIAN YOUTH THEATER - Performances of 'Willy Wonka JR,' performed by members of the Christian Youth Theater, continue this weekend at the Sherwood Center for the Arts Christian Youth Theater will perform "Willy Wonka JR." March 3 and 4, and again on March 10 and 11 at the Sherwood Center for the Performing Arts.

"Willy Wonka JR." features Karl Leach of North Portland in the title role with Gavin Pierce of Tigard as Charlie in a story that invites the audience into the classic tale of Charlie Bucket and his one-in-a-million shot to meet the world-famous and little-bit-crazy chocolate maker, Willy Wonka, in his secretive factory. Two Sherwood residents, Melia Godard and Jolee Morris, are part of the cast as well.

The delicious adventures experienced by Charlie Bucket on his visit to Willy Wonka's mysterious chocolate factory light up the stage in this captivating adaptation of Roald Dahl's fantastical tale. Featuring the enchanting songs from the 1971 film starring Gene Wilder, in addition to a host of fun new songs, Roald Dahl's "Willy Wonka JR." is a scrumpdidilyumptious musical guaranteed to delight everyone's sweet tooth. Showtimes are March 3 and 10 at 7 p.m.; March 4 and 11, 2 and 7 p.m. School field trips to the show are planned for March 2.
