Sheriff's deputies say an SUV brought down a power line after a drunk driver crashed her car Friday morning.Washington County Sheriff’s deputies have cited a woman after investigators say she crashed into a power pole near Sherwood, snapping it in half.

According to deputies, at about 11:11 a.m., Friday morning, investigators

responded to a single vehicle crash on Southwest Tonquin Road, Friday, Sept. 13, after a 2003 BMW sport-utility vehicle crashed into a power pole.

Paramedics were already on the scene when deputies arrived, and were examining 49-year-old Gail Feldman, of Wilsonville.

Feldman, who deputies say was the driver of the vehicle, did not have any serious injuries but was acting abnormally and was transported to Oregon Health & Science University hospital for observation.

Deputies said that Feldman was drunk and driving recklessesly, with a blood alcohol level “substantially higher than the legal limit of .08.”

The crash brought the love power pole crashing to the ground. Crews from Portland General Electric spent several hours to replace the pole, shutting down traffic in the area for about 5 hours.

Feldman was cited for driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and criminal mischief.
