Carey Wilhelm has been named Sherwood High School's new associate principal
Carey Wilhelm has been named Sherwood High Schools new associate principal, Sherwood School District officials announced Wednesday.
Wilhelm, who currently serves as a teacher on special assignment at Woodburn High School, will assume her new role on July 1.
I look forward to joining such an amazing community of educators, students, and families, said Wilhelm, who holds bachelors and masters degrees from Willamette University.
She has spent the past nine years teaching math and coaching basketball and track at Woodburn High School.
Wilhelms math teaching experience includes everything from pre-algebra to advanced placement statistics, and she has served as a department coordinator.
In 2011, Wilhelm earned her administrative license through George Fox University and has been patiently waiting for the right opportunity to put her leadership skills to use.
We feel very fortunate to bring Carey onto our school leadership team, said Ken Bell, a SHS associate principal who will take over as principal at SHS on July 1. She brings a real passion for teaching and the entire high school experience.
Wilhelm lives in Woodburn with her husband and 9-year-old daughter.
