The band competed against nine other schools to take the title and earned 269 out of 350 possible points. The high school chamber choir also took a fourth-place title in the 4A class at the state competition held May 5. The choir earned a total 297 out of 350 possible points. While the Scappoose Jazz Band did not perform as an ensemble at state, the group did earn a third-place title at the University of Portland Jazz Festival in early April.
