HOMESTEAD The Portland Police Bureau, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help in located a wanted theft suspect.
Through a tip to Crime Stoppers of Oregon, 55-year-old Eman Scot Lutfi has been identified as the person seen in surveillance video stealing a woman's purse at the Portland Shriners Hospital for Children in May 2013.
Around noon on May 14, 2013, investigators believe Lutfi walked into the hospitals volunteer break room and stole a woman's purse. The purse contained an undisclosed amount of cash, ID, credit cards, and an iPad.
When the victim realized her purse was missing she alerted hospital security staff, who located the Lutfi on surveillance video.
Shriners Hospital security learned from Oregon Health & Science University Public Safety that a similar incident occurred that same afternoon at their neighboring campus, when the suspect stole a backpack from an OHSU employee's office.
Lutfi is described 55-year-old male with tan or olive-colored skin, shaved or bald head, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 170 pounds, with a tattoo of "Scotland" on his left arm.
An April 2013 photo of Lutfi is being released to the public to aid in his apprehension.
