Set for Friday, Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the King City Clubhouse, 80 vendors will take over the facility to provide information about such topics and programs as travel, healthcare services, real estate, remodeling, cosmetics and skincare, painting, tax services, insurance, counseling, hearing, legal services, various kinds of in-home care, moving services and much more, including the always entertaining Northwest Senior Theatre.

There also will be opportunities to get discounted flu shots and enjoy refreshments provided by Edgewood Point Assisted Living and Arbor Memory Care, Edgewood Downs, Elite Care, Park Rose and Home Street Bank.

Organizer Kathy Peper, owner of To Your Door Spa and Salon, also is donating four tables to the following non-profits: Elders in Action, Ride Connection, Washington County DAVS (Disability, Aging and Veteran Services) and SHIBA (Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance).

Recently, Peper met with Pepsi Lacamp, Edgewood Point administrator, and Cassandra Walker, Edgewood Point chef, to go over the details of the food they will be providing, which are brownies and morning glory muffins.

This is Edgewood Point's first year to participate in the King City Expo, and it is providing transportation to its residents who want to go to the Expo. "We're excited to be part of it," Lacamp said.

One difference this year will be that people can take shuttle buses between the Clubhouse and the McCann's/Grocery Outlet parking lot, with Edgewood Downs providing the service from 9 to 11 a.m., Edgewood Point from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Emeritus at Oswego Springs from 1 to 3:30 p.m., which is half an hour after the Expo ends.

Plus, Peper will have a parking attendant at the Clubhouse entrance to help out.
