DA rules officers justified in fatally shooting suspect in Christmas shooting
The Washington County District Attorney's Office has ruled officers from several Washington County police departments were justified when they shot a Beaverton man outside Sherwood on Christmas night.
James Tylka was shot and killed by police after he shot and killed his estranged wife, Katelynn Tylka-Armand on Dec. 25, 2016. Tylka then shot North Plains-based Oregon State Police Trooper Nic Cederberg several times before he was gunned down by police.
In a report released Wednesday, the DA's office found that five police officers who shot and killed Tylka after he had injured Cederberg were justified in their actions.
