State Trooper Cederberg taking steps in recovery - literally
Nic Cederberg was critically injured in a shootout with a man accused of murdering his own wife on Dec. 25.
Almost three weeks after he was critically injured in a shootout with an armed murder suspect near Sherwood on Christmas night, Oregon State Trooper Nic Cederberg walked for the first time as he rehabilitates from his injuries, his family said.
Cederberg took 26 steps on Saturday after taking his first steps post-shooting last Thursday, according to his family. The trooper, one of several law enforcement officers who responded after James Tylka shot his estranged wife Katelynn Tylka-Armand dead outside his King City home on Dec. 25, had reportedly believed after the shooting that his right leg was paralyzed.
