Early morning fire damages Portland's International School
An early morning fire Thursday damaged the International School of Portland.
Portland Fire and Rescue officials said the fire reported at about 2:43 a.m. Aug. 31, apparently started near an outside Dumpster and spread to the building's interior at 025 S.W. Sherman St.
The fire damaged the school's electrical supply and PGE crews had to disconnect the building's power. Firefighters used non-conductive chemicals to extinguish the electrical fire. They used water to extinguish the remaining flames.
A fire investigator is trying to determine the cause of the fire. No estimate has been provided on the amount of damage caused by the fire.
