Six teens hurt in crash near Molalla
A pickup truck with six teenagers inside went over the crest of a hill near Molalla and flipped upside down, injuring the driver severely enough to be airlifted to a Portland hospital.
The crash happened around 4:40 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, on South Palmer Road, south of Hwy 213, Clackamas County Sheriffs Office said in a release.
The 18-year-old driver, Karnily Bodunov, of Woodburn, was speeding, lost control and went off the road, investigators said. He suffered a head injury and was taken by Life Flight for treatment.
One of the five passengers was taken by Molalla Fire District ambulance to an area hospital for treatment, while the others all had minor injuries and were released to their parents.
All the teens, including Bodunov, admitted drinking, deputies said.
Bodunov faces charges of DUII, reckless endangering and fourth-degree assault.
Molalla Police assisted at the scene.
