A 19-year-old man died in a shooting in Southeast Portlands Woodstock neighborhood Tuesday night.
The name of the victim was not immediately released.
East Precinct officers responded to the report of a shooting at Southeast 57th Avenue and Harold Street just before 11 p.m.
As officers were on their way to the scene, additional information was broadcast that a man was on the ground injured.
Officers and medical personnel arrived, located the victim, and determined that he was deceased.
A number of residents in the neighborhood reported hearing several gunshots. Detectives believe the victim may have run northbound on 57th Avenue before collapsing in the front yard of a home, and likely had no connection with anyone inside of it.
Witnesses told officers a white SUV or truck was seen leaving the area after the shooting, but no such vehicle was immediately located or connected to the crime, according to police.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy Wednesday morning.
