Small plane crashes near Aurora

by: COURTESY PHOTO - A small plane piloted by an 81-year-old man crashed this morning near Aurora. At about 10:45 this morning, July 19, a deputy from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a small plane crash near S. Meridian and S. Whiskey Hill roads near Hubbard.

The two occupants of the plane were reported to be out of the plane and walking around.

The plane was traveling from the Lenhardt Airpark in Hubbard headed to the Mulino Airport. The pilot noticed his altitude was too low as he approached some trees but was unable to correct this in time. The wing of the plane struck a tree which caused the plane to go down. COURTESY PHOTO
