Mother using heroin arrested downtown, child in car
At about 1 p.m. Friday, July 18, Adrianna Vandehey, 27, was arrested for injecting heroin into her arm while her child was seating in her vehicle.
A traffic division officer was flagged down near S.W. 4th Avenue and Harrison Street on the report that a woman and a child were in a parked car nearby and that the woman was shooting up heroin.
The officer walked over to the car and observed the woman using heroin.
Vandehey was arrested on charges of possession of heroin and reckless endangerment.
The child, in good health, was taken into protective custody and placed in the custody of other family members.
Vandehey was booked into the Multnomah County Jail and will be arraigned Monday, July 21.
