Portland police say they have arrested a 20-year-old gang member for stabbing a 13-year-old girl.
The victim's name was not released and her injuries are described as not life-threatening.
Maximilliano Rigo Resendiz-Thompson was arrested by the Gang Enforcement Team on June 18 and charges of Assault in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Police describe him as a known gang member.
The investigation began on May 25, 2014, when East Precinct officers responded to Portland Adventist Medical Center on the report of a walk-in stabbing victim.
Officers contacted the victim, a 13-year-old girl, who told police that she'd been at a party at a home at Southeast 138th Avenue and Stark Street when she was punched in the face stabbed in the back by a man there during a scuffle.
GET detectives gathered information arrested Resendiz-Thompson without incident at his residence in the 100 block of Southeast 172nd Avenue in Gresham.
