Police have identified the suspect and victim in a Sunday stabbing outside a Northeast Portland bar.
Detectives detained and released the suspect, Lamar Lovette Hill, 47, in connection with the investigation on Monday.
The victim, Michael George Wallingford, 35, remains in a Portland hospital in serious condition.
The results of the investigation will be presented to the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office for review and possible presentation to a Grand Jury.
According to police, at 10:58 p.m. on June 15, East Precinct officers responded to Pappy's Bar & Grill, located at 1144 Northeast 82nd Avenue, on the report of a fight and one person bleeding.
When officers and medical personnel arrived, they ocated the victim, a male in his 30s, down in the parking lot behind the building. He was suffering from stab wound and was transported to a Portland hospital for treatment.
The seriousness of the victim's injuries were not known until he reached the hospital where it was determined that his injuries may be life-threatening.
