UPDATE: Decision delayed in Engweiler parole hearing

State parole board needs more info, it says

by: VERN UYETAKE - Conrad Engweiler, 40, at his exit interview with the state parole board on May 13.The Oregon Board of Parole and Post-Prison Supervision has decided to hold an additional exit interview hearing for former Lake Oswego resident and convicted murderer Conrad Engweiler, 40.

After a nearly four-hour hearing Tuesday that included an interview with Engweiler and testimony from the victim's family, the three-person parole board announced Friday afternoon it would delay its decision until at least Aug. 26, when it will convene again for an additional exit interview with Engweiler.

According to Brenda Carney, executive director of the state parole board, the board ordered another psychological evaluation of Engweiler and seeks additional information on "psychosexual risk factors."

Engweiler was found guilty of the 1990 rape and murder of his classmate, Erin Reynolds, 16.
