Man arrested for indecency in Washington Park

Jasen Tod Peterson, 45, of Aloha, was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Public Indecency and Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree.

According to police, at 7:20 a.m. on May 8, Central Precinct officers responded to the playground in Washington Park near the Elephant House on the report of a man masturbating while seated on a park bench.

Portland Parks & Recreation Park rangers called to report the incident and were keeping an eye on the man until police arrived.

Officers arrived at the park and took the man, later identified as Petersen, into custody without incident. police say he was dressed in women's clothing and was wearing a rainbow-colored wig.

No children or adults were in the park at the time of the incident.
