Alleged drunk driver crashes into Milwaukie police/fire station property

Milwaukie officers said they had to use their police dog to get a drunken Gregory A. Fischer, 51, to comply with directions after he tried to elude a traffic stop near Highway 224 and Harrison Street.

On April 5 at 12:41 a.m., van driven by Fischer reportedly veered off the roadway and crashed into landscaping by: CCSO - Fischershrubs several feet from the wall of the Milwaukie Public Safety Building, 3200 S.E. Harrison St.

The officer who turned on the sirens for the traffic stop just happened to be a police-canine handler. After Fischer crashed and reportedly refused numerous directions, the officer deployed the canine.

Fischer was taken into custody and later lodged at the Clackamas County Jail on charges of felony attempt to elude, reckless driving, criminal mischief and driving under the influence of intoxicants.
