Aloha High School teacher arrested on charge of sex abuse

An Aloha High School teacher was arrested today after being suspected of having sexual relations with an underage student.

by: WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE - Eric Wise, a teacher at Aloha High School, turned himself in to the Washington County Sheriff's Office where he was arrested and charged with Sex Abuse II and Furnishing Alchohol to a minor.Earlier this month, concerned citizens came forward to report suspicions that an Aloha High School teacher, Eric Wise, 37, was involved in a sexual relationship with a former student, who was underage at the time.

Wise, a marketing and business teacher at Aloha High School, has been employed by the Beaverton School District since 2006 and was the victim's teacher for several years.

Detectives interviewed several people who they believed had knowledge of the case and developed probable cause that the crime of Sex Abuse II and Furnishing Alcohol to a minor had been committed.

On Jan. 21, at 11 a.m., Wise turned himself in to detectives at the Sheriff's Office. This case will be heard by a Washington County grand jury in the near future.

The Beaverton School District cooperated fully with this investigation. Upon learning of the investigation, the district immediately placed Mr. Wise on administrative leave. Detectives collaborated with the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission.

Wise was lodged on the above charges in the Washington County Jail and has posted bail. His next court date is Jan. 31, at 8:30 a.m.

Detectives are concerned there could be more victims and would like to speak with anyone who might have additional information regarding Wise.
