Hillsboro shooting leaves wounded man lying on street
Hillsboro police are searching for two suspects who they say shot a 24-year-old man in the chest Monday evening, left him wounded on the street and fled.
Police said the man, whose name was not released, was taken to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center for treatment of his wound. He is in stable condition.
The shooting happened at about 8 p.m. Jan. 6 in the 200 block of Northwest Adams Street. Police said the man was walking in the area when two men confronted him. An argument escalated into a fight and someone fired a round from a .40 caliber handgun, striking the man in the chest.
A police search of the area found the handgun about a block away. The suspects have not been found.
Members of the Washington County Inter-Agency Gang Enforcement Team and Hillsboro police detectives are investigating the shooting.
