Woman attempts to use Plaid Pantry store as a drive-through
Early Thursday morning, the employees of a Plaid Pantry store received quite a surprise as a woman drove her car into the building, backed up, and then fled the scene.
Shortly after 4 a.m. on Jan. 2, East Precinct Portland Police officers responded to a call from the Plaid Pantry store at 6440 S.E. 82nd Ave. When they arrived, they found that a female suspect had driven a vehicle into the store, and then, in the process of fleeing the scene, collided with two other vehicles.
Witnesses reported that a man was a passenger in the car, which suffered significant damage from the incident. Officers were able to locate the vehicle, which had been abandoned in the area of S.E. 81st Ave. and S.E. Tolman Street. The male passenger was also located and officers were able to interview him about the incident.
The investigation is continuing, and the female driver has not yet been taken into custody.
