Merkley to hold three town halls on Friday
Oregon U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley will hold three town hall meetings in the metropolitan area on Friday.
They will be held in King City, Lake Oswego and Portland. According to Merkley's office, they are being held to update constituents on his work in Washington DC, to answer their questions, and to invite their suggestions about how to tackle the challenges facing Oregon and America.
Advocating for Oregonians is my number one responsibility and holding a town hall in every county is a great way to hear directly from Oregonians, said Merkley. I invite all residents of Washington, Clackamas and Multnomah Counties to come and discuss what we need to do to strengthen our state and nation.
Oregons Senator Jeff Merkley holds town hall in Washington County.
The schedule for the Jan, 3 meetings is as follows:
10:00 a.m., Deer Creek Elementary School
Cafeteria, 16155 S.W. 131st Ave.,
1:00 p.m., Lake Oswego City Hall, Council Chambers, 380 A Ave., Lake Oswego.
4:00 p.m., Multnomah Arts Center
Auditorium, 7688 S.W. Capitol Highway, Portland.
Since being elected to the U.S. Senate, Merkley has held town hall meetings in each of Oregons 36 counties every year. Friday's meetings will be his 181st, 182nd and 183rd town halls as a U.S. Senator.
Merkley is up for re-election next year. Although national political experts had considered him a shoo-in, some have changed their minds recently because of the problems with the roll out of ObamaCare and now say his re-election is not assured.
