Another semi-truck accident has closed the portion of Cornelius Pass Road in Multnomah County near Highway 30.
The road is becoming a major freight route. It is authorized to carry hazardous materials. But much of the section between Highway 30 and Skyline Boulevard is twisty and lacks shoulders and other safety features. The rest of the road is on Washington County.
The most recent occurred around noon on Friday, Nov. 29, when a semi-truck carrying corn silage overturned and spilled its load near 8th Avenue. Multnomah County reported that road between Highway 30 and Skyline Boulevard until 3 p.m. while crews cleaned up the spill.
Drivers were urged to avoid the area and use Cornell and Germantown roads or Highway 26.
