Reardon files for second term in Oregon Legislature
When State Rep. Jeff Reardon (D-Portland) of House District 48 filed for re-election Thursday morning, he said he has considered it an honor to serve citizens of East Portland, Happy Valley and Clackamas.
In May 2012, Reardon handily defeated 10-year incumbent State Rep. Mike Schaufler (D-Happy Valley) in an unusually contentious Democratic primary for a House district where Republicans havent been competitive in over a decade.
Reardon has served as a vice-chairman of the House Education Committee and sits on the House Agriculture & Natural Resources and Energy & Environment committees. A recently retired shop teacher, the freshman legislator was thrilled to see his 2013 priority a bill that provided grant funding to career and technical student organizations come to fruition this year.
I am proud of the investments that the legislature made in education this year, but I look forward to continuing to strengthen Oregons schools and workforce, Reardon said in a press release.
