Reser's Fine Foods expands ready-to-eat product recall
Resers Fine Foods of Beaverton expanded Monday its recall of refrigerated ready-to-eat products because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, which can cause serious and sometime fatal infections in young children, frail or people with weakened immune systems.
The company issued a recall Oct. 22 for the products that included refrigerated ready-to-eat items that were distributed nationwide and Canada. They include some potato salad, macaroni salad and cole slaw products. An eight-page list of the recalled items is available on Resers website, www.resers.com. The products is sold in retail and food service establishments. The packages will be marked with a use-by-date or best by date and followed by a plant identifier code of 20.
Resers officials said there were no confirmed illnesses associated with these products.
The recalled products were manufactured at the Topeka salad facility. No other Resers Fine Foods manufacturing facilities are involved in this recall.
Consumers who purchased the product should return it to the store for a refund or discard it.
