Pedestrian injured in SE hit-and-run
Police are looking for the driver in a hit-and-run accident that injured a pedestrian in Southeast Portland on Sunday.
The name and condition of the victim was not immediately released. The suspect vehicle is only described as an older car.
According to police, at 8:34 p.m. on Oct. 27, East Precinct officers responded to the report of a pedestrian hit by a car on Southeast 148th Avenue, just south of Powell Boulevard.
Officers and medical personnel arrived and located the victim, an adult male, who was suffering from traumatic but not life-threatening injuries.
The victim was transported to a Portland hospital for treatment.
Preliminary information indicates that the victim was walking along 148th Avenue northbound towards Powell Boulevard when he was struck by a northbound car driven by an unknown person.
Witnesses told police that the car stopped momentarily then left the area northbound on 148th Avenue. There is not a sidewalk along 148th Avenue in the area of the crash, at Rhine Court.
