Two robberies may be related

Two armed robberies within an hour of each other with similar methods and suspect description are believed by Portland police to be connected.

Just after midnight Saturday morning, police said a man armed with a shotgun walked into Charlie’s Teriyaki, 14800 S.E. Powell Boulvevard, and demanded money. About an hour later, a man armed with a shotgun walked into the Fire Escape Bar & Grill, 9004 N.E. Sandy Boulevard, and demanded money.

In each case the robber got the money and walked out.

The suspect is an African-American man in his mid-30s, about 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, maybe a long coat, and had some facial hair.
