Two injured in alcohol-related crash
Two drivers were injured in an early Sunday morning crash in Southeast Portland.
One of the drivers, 55-year-old Carlos Eduardo Angulo, was on charges of Assault in the Second Degree, DUII and Reckless Driving. He was booked into the Multnomah County Jail
The other driver, 37-year-old Zachary Smith, was hospitalized. His condition was not immediatey released.
According to police, at 2:41 a.m. on Aug. 25, Central Precinct officers responded to Southeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Southeast Clay Street on the report of a traffic crash.
Officers and medical personnel arrived and treated both drivers. Both were transported to Portland hospitals for treatment. Smith's injuries were more substantial than Angulo's, but neither suffered life-threatening injuries.
Officers determined that Angulo was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. He was arrested after being released from the hospital.
