Some streets that have been closed for weeks in Southeast Portland because of light rail reconstruction are scheduled to reopen Monday morning.
The rail crossings at Southeast 11th and 12th avenues are set to reopen at 5 a.m. on Aug. 5. The Southeast 8th Avenue crossing will re-open on Wednesday, Aug.7, when the new traffic signals are activated.
The streets have been closed for three weeks for construction of the Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Line. The $1.49 billion project is extending MAX service from the southern end of Portland State University through South Waterfront, over the Willamette River to OMSI, through Southeast Portland to McLoughlin Boulevard, and south through Milwaukie into Clackamas County.
Construction is 50 percent complete. The line is scheduled to open on Sept. 12, 2015.
