Noisy bar patrons confront shotgun-wielding neighbor

Oregon City police arrested an elderly man who allegedly, armed with his cane and a 16-gage double-barrel shotgun loaded with four shells, confronted bar customers for being noisy.

by: OC POLICE - YoungbloodOn Saturday at about 8:20 p.m., police arrested 80-year-old Baylis Youngblood for menacing, pointing a firearm at another and disorderly conduct in the second degree a couple blocks from his home off Washington Street. He has been released from jail and declined to discuss his case with media.

Youngblood on July 27 was reportedly angry at what he perceived to be loud music coming from an outdoor event at the Ice House Bar, 1200 Main St. After demanding the music be turned off, Youngblood reportedly pointed his firearm at a bar patron.

This incident was witnessed by many including the Ice House bartender, bar customers and a couple who just arrived in their vehicle to observe Youngblood standing on the public sidewalk pointing the shotgun at the customer.

Youngblood eventually walked away, where Oregon City police officers located him near his home, still in possession of the shotgun. He was transported to the Clackamas County Jail, where he was lodged without incident.

The case has been forwarded to the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office for potential prosecution.
