Man dies in mobile home park knife fight
A 47-year-old Milwaukie man was killed early Thursday morning in a knife fight at a Clackamas County mobile home park.
Clackamas County sheriffs detectives said a second man was seriously injured in the fight near Southeast 82nd Avenue and Glencoe Road. He was being treated at Oregon Health and Science University Hospital for stab wounds. He is expected to survive.
Deputies said Randy Basso was found lying in the road and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another Milwaukie man, 36-year-old Peter Altman, was in stable condition and was being interviewed by detectives.
Sheriffs detectives said the fight broke out at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, between two men armed with pocket knives. At least five neighbors called 9-1-1 to report an altercation, according to the sheriffs office.
Kristine Lambie, who identified herself as the deceased mans girlfriend, told KOIN News 6 that she was trying to defuse the situation. I said drop the knife, drop the knife, Lambie told KOIN.
