Championship meet day one roundup: Kennedy rakes in three third-place finishes

The following schools competed in preliminary and final events Thursday at the OSAA Championship Meet in Eugene.

Teams will continue to compete Friday and Saturday.

Below are results for Gervais High School, Kennedy High School in Mount Angel and St. Paul High School, which compete in 3A, 2A and 1A, respectively. Final results are in bold.

Kennedy High School

by: PHIL HAWKINS - Loghan Sprauer placed well in the preliminaries of the 100, 200 and 400 meter dashes Thursday at the OSAA Championship Meet in Eugene.Junior Loghan Sprauer fell short of last year's record-breaking high jump, placing third in the event at a height of 5 feet, 2 inches. Last year, she jumped 5 feet, 6 inches.

Sprauer did well in the preliminaries, placing first in the 200 and 400 meter dash prelims, clocking in at 26.34 1:02.09, respectively. She also came in second in the 100 meter dash prelims, at 12.86 seconds.

Her sister senior Madison Sprauer clocked in at 16.94 seconds, putting her in second place in the girls 100 meter hurdles preliminaries.

Lauren Stokley placed third in the girls 3000 meter run, clocking in at 11:18.94.

Taylor Brown placed eighth in the long jump, jumping 14 feet, 10.75 inches.

Adrian Parra placed third in the boys 3000 meter run, clocking in at 9:20.70.

Bishop Mitchell placed fifth in the long jump at 20 feet, 6.25 inches.

Gervais

Beverlyn Stott is out of the girls 100 meter dash after coming in ninth, falling just short of qualifying for the next round with her time of 13.09 seconds.

Stott placed 10th in the girls long jump, jumping 15 feet, 4 inches.

Pieter Top came in fourth in the boys 100 meter dash prelims, clocking in at 11.37 seconds, and seventh in the boys 200 meter dash prelims, clocking in at 23.32. He placed fifth at 42.28 in the boys meter hurdles prelims.

Ben Goumy placed eighth with a time of 17.11 seconds in the boys 110 meter hurdles preliminaries.

St. Paul

Remy Brentano placed 10th in the long jump after a foul. She placed third in the preliminaries for the girls 100 meter dash, clocking in at 13.44 seconds.
