He scored Portland's first preseason goal and now has been signed by the club.
Tshuma is a 21-year-old forward who played the past two seasons for the University of Maryland.
He was a Timbers' pick, No. 17 overall, in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft. The 5-10, 160-pounder is a native of Zimbabwe who arrived in the Washington, D.C., area in 2008.
The 22-year-old defender, 6-2, 180, also has signed with the Timbers, who are continuing their preseason in Tucson, Ariz.
Peay was a second-round SuperDraft pick this year, going 26th overall. He played four years for the Unviersity of Washington, earning all-Pac-12 honors in 2013 as the Huskies allowed only 17 goals en route to the conference title. He is from Salt Lake City.
The Portland Winterhawks have signed the 15-year-old center prospect from Calgary. Portland put him on its protected list in October. He leads his CRAA Gold Team in scoring and ranks fourth in the Alberta Midget Minor Hockey League with 22 goals and 35 assists in 29 games this season.
