From Multnomah Field to Multnomah Stadium to Civic Stadium to PGE Park to Jeld-Wen Field to Providence Park.
Portland's downtown stadium has been called these things, and more, over the years ... and now it's official name is being changed again.
The Portland Timbers, who have been calling the shots at the facility in recent years, announced Monday that Providence Health & Services is the stadium's new sponsor.
So it's Providence Park -- under terms of a 15-year deal. The previous name, Jeld-Wen Field, is out the door, although Jeld-Wen will remain affiliated with the Timbers.
Providence Health & Services already was one of numerous Timbers sponsors, in a group that included Alaska Airlines, Jeld-Wen Windows & Doors, KeyBank, Burgerville, Root Sports, Portland General Electric, Widmer Brothers and Adidas.
And Providence is the main jersey sponsor of the Portland Thorns FC, champions of the National Women's Soccer League.
