Feb. 10, 1981: One Fix is out, another Fix is in at Lewis & Clark College

He will be replaced by his son, David Fix.

  • The other big news of the day: The Vic Crowe-coached Portland Timbers keep their North American Soccer League indoor playoff hopes alive with a 5-3 victory over the Los Angeles Aztecs. A crowd of 6,804 attends the game at Memorial Coliseum. Dale Mitchell scores the final two goals for Portland, after one goal apiece by Jimmy Kelly, John Bain and John Pratt. Goalie Mick Poole makes 18 saves.
