Feb. 7, 1914: Bevos sign slugger
The Portland Beavers ink a deal with Buddy "Home Run" Ryan, who is expected to fill a void created when Chester Chadbourne jumped to the Kansas City Federals.
The Bevos now have 24 players under contract, with three more spots open, as they get ready for spring training, which will start on March 2.
Meanwhile, at Multnomah Field, the Multnomah Club and Jefferson High soccer teams play to a 3-3 tie in their first game of the season.
