WOMEN'S COLLEGE HOOPS: Vikings fall to NAU

Portland State slipped to 3-4 in the Big Sky with an 88-67 home loss to Northern Arizona at Stott Center on Saturday afternoon.

NAU outscored the Vikings 57-31 in the first half.

Allie Brock and Lariel Powell each scored 16 points for the Viks, and Emily Easom had 13 points.

PSU shot 50.0 percent from the field, but NAU made 53.3 percent and had a 44-30 edge in points in the paint.

The Vikings are 5-11 overall.

The Lumberjacks are 5-10 for the season and 2-4 in the conference.

  • • Lewis & Clark, playing host to Willamette, won 68-51 on Saturday and moved into sole possession of fourth place in the Northwest Conference.

    Senior guard Taylor Wang's sixth double-double of the season (24 points, 12 rebounds) sparked L&C.

    The Pioneers are 4-2 in the NWC and 9-6 overall.

    The Bearcats sank to 1-5, 3-12.

    Casey Zinn added 12 points for the Pios.

    Whitman leads the NWC at 6-0. George Fox and Whitworth are 5-1.

    L&C plays at Whitman on Friday and at Whitworth on Saturday.

  • • The visiting Northwest Eagles never trailed as they defeated Concordia 86-66 on Saturday night.

    Northwest improved to 5-4 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, while the Cavs fell to 1-8.

    Gabi Beyer had 12 points and Caitlyn McCutcheon 11 to pace the Cavaliers, 3-17 overall.

  • • Warner Pacific fell 78-74 at home to the Evergreen State Geoducks on Saturday.

    Jordan Wilcox scored 13 points for WPC, and Courtney Walchli added 11 and Kyeli Hendryx had a season-high 9.

    The Knights dropped to 1-7 in the CCC, 5-15 overall, while Evergreen upped its record to 4-5 in league and 8-8 overall.
