Trail Blazers

New Orleans (11-13) plays Portland (22-5) at Moda Center, 7 p.m. (KGW 8).

Former Trail Blazers assistant coach Monty Williams is in his fourth season as head coach of the Pelicans, who have been near the .500 mark this season.

The Pelicans are 0-3 on a five-game trip and have an NBA-high 106.7 points per game on the road.

Portland is 10-2 at home and has had three days off since losing Wednesday at Minnesota to go 3-1 on a five-day swing.

In a 108-95 loss Wednesday to the Los Angeles Clippers, second-year forward Anthony Davis returned from a broken left hand and had 24 points and 12 rebounds. He had missed seven games.

College women's basketball

The Portland Pilots (6-4) visit Stott Center for their lone meeting of the season against crosstown rival Portland State (2-7), 2 p.m.

OSU (7-3) concludes its play in the Duel in the Desert, colliding with Clemson (7-4) at 5 p.m. at Las Vegas.

Concordia (2-11) is at Warner Pacific, (4-8) 5:30 p.m., in Cascade Collegiate Conference action.

College men's basketball

The Cascade Collegiate Conference season picks up with the inner-city rivalry game, Concordia (9-3) at Warner Pacific (5-8), 7:30 p.m.

Portland (7-4) takes on Princeton (9-1) at 8 p.m. in its second and final game of the South Point (Arena) Holiday Hoops Classic at Las Vegas.

Oregon (10-0) is at home against BYU (8-4), 7:30 p.m., Matthew Knight Arena (Pac-12 Networks).

Boys basketball

Cleveland continues play in the Century tournament.

Franklin is at home against McMinnville, 4:15 p.m.

Madison is in the Oregon City tournament.

Girls basketball

Wilson plays in the Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix, Ariz.

Lincoln has a 3 p.m. tip at Glencoe against the host Crimson Tide.

Also at 7 p.m., Roosevelt is at Thurston.

Prep wrestling

Cleveland and Roosevelt are in a tournament at Liberty that starts at 9 a.m., and Jefferson competes in a tournament at Canby.
