Portland goes to Kent, Wash, for a 7:30 p.m. skate with Seattle.

The last time the Hawks were at Seattle, the Thunderbirds won 5-4 in overtime on Nov. 23, snapping a losing streak and making amends for losses of 10-2 and 10-4 to Portland.

The Winterhawks lead the season series 3-2.

Portland (22-6-2-2, 28 points) leads second-place Everett by two points in the U.S. Division after 32 games each in the 72-game Western Hockey League season.

But the Hawks trail B.C. Division leader Kelowna (24-3-0-2, 50 points), and Kelowna has played three fewer games.

Seattle is in the mix, too, at 19-9-1-3 , with 42 points.

The Winterhawks have played 18 road games and 14 home games. Kelowna has had 12 road games and 17 home games.
