Calgary shuts down Hawks 4-1

Oliver Bjorkstrand scored for Portland midway through the first period, but Calgary stifled the high-powered Hawks attack the rest of the way.
The Hitmen took a 2-1 lead with goals at 17:41 and 19:51 of the second period and extended their advantage to 3-1 at 1:37 of the third period.
The final goal found an empty net at 18:32.
WHAT IT MEANS
Portland finished with one win (and one shootout loss to sturdy Edmonton) for three points on a tough weekend of three road games in as many days.
Bjorkstrand's goal was his 25th of the season.
Center Shane McColgan got his second assist in four games played. Defenseman Josh Hanson also picked up an assist, his fourth of the season.
Calgary held Portland to 25 shots, while taking 33.
Both teams were 0 for 4 on power plays.
