Central Catholic 83, Tigard 49 in Class 6A semifinals

Ridiculous numbers.

Especially considering the competition.

Yes, there was competition, but the Tigard Tigers could do little to stop the Central Catholic Rams on Saturday.

The Rams rang up 12 touchdowns, all in the first 3 1/2 quarters, and beat the Tigers 83-49 in a Class 6A semifinal game at Jeld-Wen Field.

Central Catholic (13-0) had only 19 first downs, as it broke long play after long play on the way to 780 yards total offense. Only three CC scores after a snap in the red zone.

The Rams averaged 16.2 yards per play, even with three punts.

Tigard (12-1) didn't do too badly on offense, either, amassing 668 yards despite five turnovers. But that wasn't nearly enough against the Rams, who had 11 rushing touchdowns — five by Cameron Scarlett, four by Ryan Nall and two by quarterback Aidan Wilder.

The 6A title game will start at 1 p.m. Saturday, also at Jeld-Wen.
