WHERE ARE THEY NOW: Becky Blees, Western Oregon Wolves
Western Oregon University volleyball
Blees, a 5-10 senior from Madison High, broke the Great Northwest Athletic Conference block assists record on Saturday.
She got three in a five-set win at Simon Fraser, giving her 400 for her WOU career, three better than the four-year-old mark set by Cammy Dranginis of Northwest Nazarene.
Blees earned four letters at Madison in both volleyball and softball. She was second team all-state as an outside hitter and middle blocker and was PIL 5A player of the year as a junior and senior. In softball, she played shortstop and pitched for the Senators.
She is majoring in criminal justice and Spanish at Western Oregon, and hopes to become a probation officer.
Blees has started all 24 matches this year for WOU, with 189 kills (1.91 per set) and a team-high 109 block assists.
The Wolves are 9-15 overall this season and 6-8 in the NCAA Division II GNAC. Western Oregon has six matches remaining in the regular season.
