Second-half explosion lands Centennial a victory
The Eagles score four touchdowns in the third quarter en route to a 45-28 win over David Douglas
Centennial couldnt be stopped in the second half Friday, finding the end zone on five of its six drives to blow past David Douglas 45-28.
The Eagles quick-strike attack was on full display after David Douglas pulled to within a touchdown late in the third quarter.
Centennials Dezmond Stoudamire took the ensuing kickoff and cut through a pack of red shirts, crossing over midfield for a return of 40 yards. Two plays later, tailback A.J. Wienke burst around the corner 43 yards to the end zone. Centennial went up 32-21 and would maintain a double-digit gap the rest of the way.
Wienke was seeing his first full-time action of the season after coming off knee surgery at the end of last year.
