Eugene's 11th-inning heroics leave Hops stuck with sixth straight loss

EUGENE EMERALDS 3, HILLSBORO HOPS 2 (11 innings)

Tuesday night at PK Park, Eugene

THE STORY

The Hillsboro Hops lost their sixth game in a row, and the Eugene Emeralds took a 2-0 lead in the three-game series.

Hillsboro (4-15) fell to 2-8 in one-run games.

Hillsboro took a 1-0 lead in the top of the ninth on Tyler Linton's two-out home run, but the Ems tied it in the bottom of the frame with a walk, passed ball, single and sacrifice fly.

The winning run came when Eugene's leadoff batter in the 11th, Marcus Davis, was hit by a pitch, went to second on a bunt single, advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt and came home on a one-out single to right field by Ronnie Richardson.

WHAT IT MEANS
