A new brewery, Baerlic Brewing Company, will be celebrating its grand opening, 4 p.m. Saturday, June 28.

The 7,300 square-foot warehouse and storefront is located at 2235 S.E. 11th Ave., near Ladd's Addition and next door to Blitz Ladd in the former home of Kettleman's Bagels.

The grand opening will launch five standard Baerlic beers: Invicible IPA, Noble Oatmeal Stout, Cavalier Classic Cream Ale, Primeval NW Brown Ale and Ultra Summer Ale (USA). In addition, as a result of playing with fruit, coffee, bourbon, cocoa, nibs and beech wood, the brewery will release up to six one-off Baerlic beers.

There'll also be pizza, tours and music by Maris Otter.

The brewery features skylights, original fir woodwork and beams, with a utilitarian and contemporary aesthetic.

"When we say, 'The Beer Here Is Near and Dear,' we mean it," says Ben Parsons, co-owner along with Richard Hall. "We strive to work in as close a proximity as possible for all our ingredients, materials, vendors, supplies and suppliers. And that allows us to absolutely love the beer that we brew."
