Carol Sue Ronfeld

September 8, 1939 - January 24, 2014-

Carol Sue Ronfeld, 74, of Woodburn, died Jan. 24, 2014, from complications of a stroke and lung cancer.

She was born Sept. 8, 1939, in Ontario, Ore., to Jarrel and Joy Richardson. She graduated from Ontario High School in 1957 and attended the College of Idaho and Shasta Junior College in California.

She received a registered nurse associate degree from Portland Community College in 1969, certification as an emergency room nurse in 1973 and a bachelor’s degree as a nurse paralegal in 2000.

She married her first husband, Richard DeWitt Frost on March 10, 1962. They divorced in 1965 and she moved to Canby.

On July 21, 1978, she married Ralph Wilford Ronfeld in Macksburg Lutheran Church.

She worked for the San Jose Telephone Co, Gary’s Rexal Drug and Dr. Edmond Davies in Canby, Portland Osteopathic Hospital, Lincoln City Hospital, Providence Medical Center and Marquis Hope Village in Canby.

She was a member of the Oregon Nurses Association and the Sweet Adeline’s Canby and Tillamook choruses.

She enjoyed machine quilting, reading and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include her husband; daughter, Laurie Frost Doty, of Sherwood; stepsons, Dale Robert Ronfeld, of Canby, and Jeffrey Lynn Ronfeld, of Oregon City; stepdaughter, Deborah Jo Pentico, of Canby; and sisters, Jarrelane Hulett Oxley, of Keizer, and Elizabeth Joy Cooprider, of Portland.

Her parents and brother, Jarrel Hulett Richardson, preceded her in death.

A service will be Saturday, Feb. 15, at 10 a.m. at Macksburg Lutheran Church, in Canby.
