Marlene Ellis MacEwan
Marlene Ellis MacEwan (62) passed away on March 6, 2017 in a car accident. She was the widow of Robert MacEwan. They shared 21 years together. Born in Portland, Oregon on August 4, 1954. She was the daughter of Melvin and June Ellis of Lake Oswego. She graduated in 1972 from Lake Oswego High School. She was a retired licenced tax consultant and owned her own business.
She lived for her 7 grandkids; Jase, Lainee & Ridlee Derry, Keegan Swanson, Kylie DeBusman, and Logan and Rylee Schreiner of Sherwood. She volunteered at Sherwood Middle School, Hopkins Elementary and Middleton Elementary where her grandchildren attend.
She was an activist for CanSAR (Cancer Survivors Against Radon). She was a devoted volunteer for Make-A-Wish and granted over 100 wishes. She was a board member of Oregon Region Porsche Club of America and owned 2 Porsche 911's. Marlene loved to travel and took every opportunity she could to explore new places.
She is survived by her daughters Jennifer Derry and Elisa Swanson, her son- in-laws Ryan Derry and Matt Schreiner and step-children Meghan MacEwan Groves and Doug MacEwan.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Sherwood Center for the Arts (22689 SW Pine St., Sherwood, OR 97140). Doors will open at 5:00 pm. A service will take place at 5:30 pm with an open house following until 8:00 pm. All are welcome.
