Thomas Carl Cardamon, Jr.
Thomas Carl Cardamon, Jr. passed away suddenly on March 4, 2017. Tom, the eldest of four children, was born on September 8, 1959, to Laura Patricia amble and Thomas Carl Cardamon, Sr. He was preceded in death by his only child, Noah Jacob Madison Cardamon, in 2005 and his brother Christopher John Cardamon in 1993.
At the time of his death, Tom was working at the Y Arts Center in Portland, Oregon, where he was a favorite among the children. Working with them was his passion and brought him joy and satisfaction. Every day he looked forward to going to work. He loved music of all kinds, but especially the blues, along with a good joke, Italian food and animals. He was a talented writer, photographer and musician.
Tom is survived by his mother Laura Gamble, stepfather Denis De Courcey; his sister Lisa Cardamone; brother Adam Cardamon (Ayuko Tahara); nephew Jacob Weber (Bo Park); niece Natalie Weber; and his beloved therapy bunny, Jenny.
The family wishes to thank the health care providers at the VA Hospital, especially Dr. Gina Ortola, Mike Shults and Dr. Matteucci for their unstinting efforts to help Tom and for their respect and kindness.
A remembrance will be held on April 29, 2017, time and place to be announced. Those who are interested may contribute to Rabbit Advocates or Y Arts. A named scholarship at the Y Arts Center is being established.
