Northside hosting lecture tonight
Northside Community Church will host "Peace & War," the latest in the church's Thrive series of lectures, at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Presenters Mark Hall and Paul Anderson will discuss the tension between the call for peace and the act of war in the Bible, as well as in modern times, through the lens of Jesus and the Just War theory. Hall has a doctorate in political science and is interested in the relationship between religion and politics. Anderson holds a master's and doctorate degrees in religious studies and is the founding member of John, Jesus and History Project. Nursery care will be provided for the event. International children's choir visits NCC
The Children of the World International Children's Choir will perform at 6 p.m. Sunday at Newberg Christian Church. The choir is composed of children from Nepal, Uganda, Brazil, Guatemala, India, Honduras and the Philippines. Through song, dance, spoken word and creative media, "Children of the World presents the reality of millions of children around the world in a program that all ages will enjoy," according to a press release. NCC hosting marriage course
