Tune up your organization or business with CCCNW talk

With stops at corporations like US Digital, CCI Automated Technologies, Evergreen Aviation, Siemens and Johnson Controls, Rick Campfield has accumulated a great deal of experience in sales, marketing, operations, human resources and finance and will bring his expertise to Newberg July 22 for the Christian Chamber of Commerce of the Northwest’s monthly meeting.

This month’s meeting will take place at a new location, the Windrose Conference Center, where Campfield will share several ideas and tips on how to “tune up” any business or ministry organization from 7:30 to 9 a.m.Campfield

Campfield is the founder of Cadence Development and a part of the FSH Consulting Group, which is noted for its Transformational Leadership training.

Campfield said any business or organization can be broken down into six distinct departments and will share insights from Transformational Leadership aimed at improving each of them, as well as some general business tips and ideas.

“The intent of the talk is to give some practical, walk-away things that you can do right away,” Campfield said. “The second is to trigger the attendees to think about the departments differently than they might have before.”

Transformational Leadership focuses on communication and the personal relationships that everyone has, which is why it doesn’t only apply to businesses.

“At the end of the day, whether you have a shrink-wrap product or a service or insurance, people are buying people and the service they provide,” Campfield said. “Transformational leadership is helping the human relationship part of business. Those same tools can be used in your home, at school, at church.”

The tools employed by Transformational Leadership are all Biblically based, but because the principles they expound and the results they provide stand on their own, they can be used in religious and non-religious organizations, or like Campfield says, can be presented in stained-glass or plain-glass versions.

The starting point is always creating a social covenant.

“That social covenant is defining what are the behaviors that we’re going to use to interact together, as a team, as individuals,” Campfield said. “What notoriously happens in that dialogue coming up to craft this list of behaviors is scriptural things like respecting one another, treat others how you want to be treated and so many more that are straight out of the Bible.”

Campfield is currently preparing to launch his own website, akatal.com, which will provide a marketplace to connect businesses with consultants, similar to how Angie’s List connects customers with contractors.

The meeting is free to CCCNW members and $5 for non-members and guests who make reservations at www.cccnw.net. The Windrose Conference Center is located at 809 W. First St. in Newberg.
